Do_you_carry_a_personal_malpractice_insurance_policy_why_or_why_ not: yes. My employers policy protects them mine protects me.
Your_most_pressing_concerns_with_the_profession_and_healthcare: I believe the root of current troubles in nursing and in health care generally in the USA stem from a loss of belief in civic and social responsibility from a growing selfishness in our culture in general. When health care delivery is seen as a profitable business rather than a social responsibility of course profits will come before patients needs and the profit- minded are not minded to share the profits with the providers. Iv e read many times that nurses need to learn to speak business and translate nursing concerns into language that payors and administrators can understand. Whatever dialect we speak if we dont speak for our patients welfare and our own no one else will do so for us.
What_attracted_you_to_the_field_of_Nursing: My first patient care experience was as a teen hospital volunteer. I was hooked.
