Would you recommend the field: Absolutely. Although nursing demands a lot from you there's alway some sort of reward even as small as a patient holding your hand and saying thank you .

In how many years would you like to retire: Ideally I d like to win the lotto...Well lets say at about 20-25 years. But I have so many student loans I think I ll work until I am forced to retire.

Your most pressing concerns with the profession and healthcare: Downsizing and understaffing especially in my specialty--it can be dangerous . Nurses being abused physically verbally by other professionals and patients. Salary. Pregnancy in very young teens and their family s ambivalence to it no big deal Medicaid . AIDS. Nurses flagging self-esteem--professionally or the I m just a nurse syndrome .
Have you ever considered leaving the profession If yes what options have you explored: I m still a rookie nurse. I haven t explored any other areas
What attracted you to the field of Nursing: What nursing stands for. It seemed like a natural choice for a softee like me.

Favorite TV show and musical artists: X-Files. Can you beleive I havent seen ER or Chicago Hope yet Musical artists--anything from classical to current.
Favorite food: At work anything I can eat during my lunch break when I can get a complete 30 minutes . Anything chocolate caffeine-loaded and bad for you. Or healthy food. Anything ethnic- Cuban Chinese Carribean Italian Japanese.
