This two year program consists of 72 semester hours and enables the graduate nurse to take the National Council Licensure Exam to become a Registered Nurse. General education courses include anatomy and physiology, microbiology, psychology, English, sociology, religion, and physical education. Nursing courses provide instruction in basic nursing concepts and skills, pharmacology, nutrition, maternal-child nursing, medical-surgical nursing, psychosocial nursing, computers in nursing, and current nursing trends and issues. The ADN program has a significant amount of clinical practice, primarily in hospitals, long-term care settings, and selected community agencies to prepare students for a variety of health care settings."
