I recently lost my job due to so-called restructuring - prospects for nursing
related jobs bleak at this time.
In how many years would you like to retire: 20
Have you started any type of retirement fund: R.R.S.P.s

be beneficial: yes
Nursing School you attend if applicable: Fanshawe College - continuing education
is ongoing
Where do you work: recently layed off from major acute-care centre
Do you carry a personal malpractice insurance policy why or why not: not
at this time as I am not practicing at the moment
Your most pressing concerns with the profession and healthcare: Recent
restructuring causing massive loss of nursing jobs in Ontario Canada due
to cuts in government funding. Hospitals are being run like a business
minimal training of dietary and housekeeping staff to do generic duties
resulting in loss of jobs here for R.N.s and R.P.N.s. Lack of factual information
regarding these issues to the public. Shorter hospital stays for patients
are resulting in increased readmission's. Lack of skilled nurses in nursing
chronic care homes resulting in greater admissions to acute care hospitals.
Nursing aids are quickly overtaking this profession in chronic care.
What attracted you to the field of Nursing: Helping people - loads of
potential for self growth and learning in a very interesting field
Favorite TV show and musical artists: Seinfeld documentaries etc.. not
much of a T.V. watcher but love film Favorite recording artists varies
- Eric Clapton Bush Led Zeppelin Our Lady Peace Junk House Cracker etc..
Favorite food: pasta or almost anything - I love food in general
Qualities you admire in your friends & loved ones: honesty 1 lots
of humour - keeps me sane passionate people with strong moral values
Pet Peeves: Pretentious people
Major turn-offs: Pretentious people
Hobbies and activities you enjoy outside of work: paper mache rollerblading
jet skiing beach and spending lots of time with good friends.
Pets favorite vacation spots: I have a dog Border Collie Vacation spots-anywhere
warm and sunny with a beach
Other areas of interest and expertise: I would like to work with a social
agency such as Children's Aide Society - Currently doing volunteer work
with the Public Health Sector. Would someday like to work in clinical trials
research.
