Rizatriptan (migraine preps), Mechanism, Electronic Doctor:"Rizatriptan is a potent, orally active serotonergic agonist that has been shown to act selectively at the 5HT 1D receptor. It acts at the craniovascular 5HT 1D receptor to cause selective constriction of the extracerebral, intracranial arteries that are thought to be dilated during a migraine attack."

Rizatriptan Benzoate, Range and Frequency, Whole Health Md:"A single dose ranging from 5 to 10 mg is generally effective.
