Celebrex, available for purchase online, without a prescription or doctor's visit, Pillstore.com:"Celebrex is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) known as a COX-2 inhibitor used to relieve the symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in adults. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor."

Celebrex.com:"If joint aches and pains slow you down or prevent you from doing the things you enjoy, ask your doctor about CELEBREX—a once-daily prescription medication that provides powerful, 24-hour relief from osteoarthritis (OA). CELEBREX is also approved for the treatment of adult rheumatoid arthritis (RA), acute pain, and primary dysmenorrhea (painful menstrual cramps). By relieving the pain in walking, climbing stairs, or simply bending down, CELEBREX can help you say yes to your life."

Celebrex, Antiagingdrugs.com:"Celebrex relieves the pain and inflammation of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It is the first of a new class of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) called "COX-2 inhibitors." Like older NSAIDs such as Motrin and Naprosyn, Celebrex is believed to fight pain and inflammation by inhibiting the effect of a natural enzyme called COX-2. Unlike the older medications, however, it does not interfere with a similar substance, called COX-1, which exerts a protective effect on the lining of the stomach. Celebrex is therefore less likely to cause the bleeding and ulcers that sometimes accompany sustained use of the older NSAIDs. Celebrex has also been found to reduce the number of colorectal polyps (growths in the wall of the lower intestine and rectum) in people who suffer from the condition called familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), an inherited tendency to develop large numbers of colorectal polyps that eventually become cancerous."

FDA Approves Celebrex (Celecoxib) for Acute Pain Relief, Doctor's Guide:"Pharmacia Corporation and Pfizer Inc. today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the use of Celebrex® (celecoxib capsules) for the effective management of acute pain and primary dysmenorrhea (menstrual pain) in adults. Importantly, this new indication provides patients the benefit of being able to take an additional dose if needed for individualized relief of acute pain."

Celebrex, DOSING, Medicine.net:"The lowest effective dose should be used for each patient. For the management of osteoarthritis, the dose usually is 100 mg twice daily or 200 mg as a single dose. For rheumatoid arthritis, the dose usually is 100 or 200 mg twice daily. For acute pain or menstrual cramps, the dose is 400 mg as a single dose on the first day followed by an additional 200 mg if needed, then 200mg twice daily as needed. For FAP, the recommended dose is 400 mg twice daily."

Celebrex, Warnings, RXlist.com:"Gastrointestinal (GI )Effects Risk of GI Ulceration, Bleeding, and Perforation : Serious gastrointestinal toxicity such as bleeding, ulceration, and perforation of the stomach, small intestine or large intestine can occur at any time, with or without warning symptoms, in patients treated with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Minor upper gastrointestinal problems, such as dyspepsia, are common and may also occur at any time during NSAID therapy. Therefore, physicians and patients should remain alert for ulceration and bleeding, even in the absence of previous GI tract symptoms. Patients should be informed about the signs and/or symptoms of serious GI toxicity and the steps to take if they occur. The utility of periodic laboratory monitoring has not been demonstrated, nor has it been adequately assessed. Only one in five patients who develop a serious upper GI adverse event on NSAID therapy is symptomatic. It has been demonstrated that upper GI ulcers, gross bleeding or perforation, caused by NSAIDs, appear to occur in approximately 1% of patients treated for 3-6 months, and in about 2-4% of patients treated for one year. These trends continue thus, increasing the likelihood of developing a serious GI event at some time during the course of therapy. However, even short term therapy is not without risk."

Celebrex, Strictlypharmacy.com ::"Celebrex is the first FDA approved drug in a new class of drugs known as COX-2 inhibitors. It was created using advanced molecular technology. The medical community has high expectations for its use. Celebrex works by inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme which is involved in the pain and inflammation process. At therapeutic doses, Celebrex does not inhibit the COX-1 enzyme which is involved in helping to maintain the stomach lining."
