I got tired of all the politics in the health care setting. It is difficult to do your job well and deal with the politics. How many times have you changed employers in your career? 9 What specific qualities and traits do you feel make nurses especially qualified to operate a business? Autonomy. We are trained to both operate independently and interdependently. Since we are able to do both, we are well suited for the business world. We have also learned to separate our feelings from the facts. In the LNC world, I can look at records, and even though it may be a horrible case (outcome-wise) I can objectively see if there was or was not malpractice involved. My feelings for the claimant don't cloud my objectivity. Do you currently practice as a nurse? If yes in what type of setting? Not clinically, if that's what you mean. Your most pressing concerns with the profession and healthcare: The lack of young people coming into the profession. We must make nursing appealing to the young people. The business world offers nice business clothes and cute cars. All we can offer is white uniforms, skipped lunches, and used Yugos.
