The first class of students was admitted in fall of 1991 for baccalaureate nursing education at Saint Luke's College. In 1992, the final class graduated from the diploma program with 3,047 students receiving their nursing diploma from Saint Luke's Hospital School of Nursing. William Jewell College / Nursing Program (BSN):"Since its establishment in 1849, William Jewell College has been committed to academic excellence in Christian higher education. The Department of Nursing was established in 1970 in response to a growing need for baccalaureate prepared nurses concerned for the physical health, psychological well-being, and spiritual dimensions of people. This concern for the whole person is the central focus of the nursing curriculum. The program is fully approved by the Missouri State Board, P.O. Box 656, Jefferson City, MO 65102, http://www.ecodev.state.mo.us/pr/nursing/. In its 28-year history, the Department Nursing has graduated more than 700 students with an average of 25 graduates per year."
