(Virginia) Programs and Services - Domestic Violence, Women's Resource Center of the New River Valley, Inc.:"Shelter, The Women's Resource Center provides temporary safe housing for abused women and their children. Requests for families in the Fourth Planning District (Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski, Radford) are given priority, however, clients are accepted from outside the district when safe housing is unavailable to them.
Women and children are given temporary shelter in a house which can accommodate 26 individuals. Clients are provided with furnished living quarters, kitchen utensils, linens, and emergency food and clothing when necessary. Residential clients are responsible for supervising their own children, preparing meals for themselves and their children, and keeping their own living quarters clean and neat."
