How many times have you changed employers in your career? 7 What specific qualities and traits do you feel make nurses especially qualified to operate a business? All nurses have an innate sense of customer service, nurse managers additionally have the needed business skills and possibly marketing skills depending on their experiences. Do you currently practice as a nurse? If yes in what type of setting? I work as a full-time legal nurse consultant Your most pressing concerns with the profession and healthcare (Please note, a response to this question is mandatory for a free listing): Professionally, nurses make up 80% of the healthcare industry. Yet many of them are notorious for back-biting, co-dependence, and refusal to accept personal responsibility for their actions or lack of action. While a union environment addresses some of these problems, the true answer lies in all nurses working from a model of professionalism. Positive nurse activism can make a difference. The Barry Adams saga is an excellent example of nurses working to improve the system. The drive for profit in the healthcare industry is ruining it. Insurance companies, hospitals (especially, but not exclusively the for-profit chains), and the Medicare / Medicaid reimbursement systems are creating a healthcare hemorrhage and putting healthcare on the critical list. Other areas of interest and expertise: Aside from nursing and my business, I am a computer junkie, love to play RPG games, scuba diving, and playing the stock market
